Lake Kawaguchiko, Mt Fuji

For the weekend, I stayed at K's Backpackers Hostel at Lake Kawaguchiko.  This area is in the shadow of Mt. Fuji, a symbol of Japan.  This was a wonderful, clean, and fresh hostel with both amenities, western and Japanese. (The heated toilets seats... mmmmmmm).   Though when in Japan....   one takes off your shoes upon entering the place and wears slippers.   I stayed in Japanese style room including the tatami mat flooring, making sure to not step on the seams to be more polite and adhere to customs as much as I can.  When ready for bed, one puts aside the table and spreads the bedding mats.  They are actually very comfortable and warm except westerners, accustomed to softer bedding might be a bit sore on the hips and shoulder if they sleep on their side, though you figure that out quickly and adjust.

Lake Kawaguchigo is a part of series of five lakes all with vistas of the majestic Mt. Fuji and seems an excellent backpacking area.  This view can only be described as magical, and the koyo,
(fall colors) mesmerizing against it.

At this time a year, the area has was is called "light ups".  Where after sunset, the fall colors, koyo, is illuminated.  They can only be described as magical as your eyes "light up" to the artistry of the trees and mother nature.
